Stephen John Byrnes (1/10/1946-12/16/2013)

Stephen John Byrnes, age 67, of Marion, passed away peacefully Monday, December 16, 2013 at Riverseide Mthodist Hospital in the company of his sister Patricia and niece Nikki.

Stephen was born January 10, 1946 in Marion, the son of late Edward and Ernestine (Bausinger) Byrnes. Stephen was a 1964 graduate of Marion Catholic High School and then attended St. Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1968. Stephen also proudly served his country in the Army Reserves from 1968 to 1972.

Stephen was a long time employee of Verizon until his retirement and was most recently working part time at RHAM. Stephen was a huge Ohio State fan, an avid golfer, enjoyed woodworking and needlepoint and was an active member of The Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his two sons, Christopher and his wife Kelly, Kevin and his wife Johnna; 6 grandchildren Allana, Seth, MacKenzie, Delaney, Riliegh, Giovanni; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday December 30, 2013, at 10:00am at St. Mary Church, 251 N. Main St., Marion, Ohio 43302 with Father Thomas Buffer presiding. Visitation will be held one hpur prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus Council 671.
