Carol ann Walker, 75, Lenexa, KS, passed away Thursday September 1, 2011, at the Shawnee Gardens Nursing Center. Graveside services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 3,      at Ressurection Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Rd. Lenexa, KS.   

Carol was born September 3, 1935, in Marshalltown, IA. She was the daughter of Harry and Ellen (Murphy) Wilson. She was a journalist during the 1950's and 60's. Carol worked for several different newspapers in Iowa. She was one of those Pioneering female journalists, who lady journalists of today always thank        for paving the way.

Carol is survived by her son, Tim Walker and daughter Hilary Steinert, of Spring TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zach and Zoe Steinert of Spring, TX.; and her sister, Sybil Byers, who lives in Tulsa, OK.
