John D. "Butch" Hauser, 54

John D. "Butch" Hauser, 54 of 215 Edgeland Drive, Marshalltown, died Tuesday, June 18, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gregg Davison of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  A memorial fund has been established.

He was born May 22, 1942, in Marshalltown to John K. and Dorothy L. Halverson Hauser.  He was raised and educated in Marshalltown and was a 1960 graduate of Marshalltown High School.

He married Diana North on July 23, 1961, in Nashua.  He graduated with honors from the University of Northern Iowa in 1966 with bachelor's degree in education.  He taught history in the Iowa Falls and Charles City school systems before returning to Marshalltown in 1976.  He was most recently employed in the maintenance department at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.

He is survived by a son, J. Scott Hauser of Georgetown, Texas; two daughters, Chris R. Hauser of Peyton, CO. and Michelle K. Nelson of Great Falls, Montana; two grandchildren; and a brother, Gary L. Hauser of Marshalltown.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for John D. "Butch" Hauser, 54, who died Tuesday, June18, were held Friday at Pursel-Davis Home, with the Rev. Gregg Davison of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Bearers were Jamie Mull, Vern North, Jack Schrader, Mike Halverson, Dennis Ferguson and Deloy Davidsen.

There were groups in attendance representing Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, Fisher Controls and RE/MAX Real Estate Office.
