Milton L. Troehler Jr., 56

Milton L. Troehler Jr., 56 of 309 N. Third St., died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory, with the Rev. Greg Ellcey of First Congregational Church officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. A memorial fund may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or a scholarship fund in his name to Marshalltown Community College.

He was born on Dec. 23, 1942, in Marshalltown to Milton L. and Ilene M. (Lathrop) Troehler Sr. He was raised and educated in Marshalltown, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1960. He earned an associate degree in business from Marshalltown Community College. He married Marlene Lynch in May of 1965 in Nashua. They were later divorced. He began working for Stewart Lumber in 1965 where he had been general manager of the Marshalltown and Ames locations for the past few years. He had served in the U.S. National Guard for six years. Survivors include his mother, Illene Lathrop-Cummings of Marshalltown; two daughters, Andrea (Mrs. Clayton Zednichek of Princeton, MN. and Lisa Troehler of St. Louis, MO; a half sister, Elaine Troehler of Fennville, MI; step-sister, Mary Ho Cronk of Toledo' and a step-brother, Greg Troehler of Maryland.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Serivces for Milton L. Troehler Jr., 56, of 309 N. 3rd St., who died Sunday, March 14 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical center, were held Thursday, March 18 at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Greg Ellcey officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Bearers were Kirk Brock, Paul McCuen, Paul Vitek, Dennis Southern, Jack Tripplet, and Clayton Zednichek. Honorary bearers were Norman Rouse and Bill Severidt. Groups representing R&L enterprises, Marshall County Home Builders Association, Campbell Construction, R.D. Stewart Building Center, R&R Services Construction Company, Kitchens, Windows and More. Ethington Heating and Cooling, Arro Construction, Stubbs Construction, Bath and Kitchen Shop, Scheid construction, Fisher Controls, F&M Bank, Hay Construction and Iowa Lumber were in attendance.
