So very sorry to hear of Kurt's death.

I'd known Kurt since elementary school at Rogers, Sunday school at Trinity Lutheran Church, and on through Junior and Senior High.  We went on a "date" to a dance at the Y when we were in 7th grade, about age 12 or 13 (smile).  His dad took us to the Y, and his mom picked us up and took us home (or maybe the other way around).  Such a genuinely nice family.

More recently, we talked at the 50th class reunion, before and after which we exchanged a few emails, reminiscing about "the good old days."  I also met Teddy Herman at the 50th reunion--a very gracious person.

I'll always remember and treasure Kurt's smile, quiet, friendly manner, and our friendship.   He will be greatly missed.
