Patricia "Patty" Thompson Obituary

Patricia A. Thompson, 82, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola.

Patricia Thompson was born on March 20, 1941 in Marshalltown. She was the daughter to Lewis and Ellen Marie (Christensen) Thompson. Patty graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1960. She had previously worked at Clifton’s in Marshalltown as a cashier for 22 years and finished her working career at JBS Swift for 17 years as a meat cutter. Patty had been a member of the Faith Open Bible Church, Great Commission Church and for the last 10 years would take part in the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on television. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her friends and family and adored her Pekapoo dog: Sammy. As Patty would say, “Love many, trust few, and paddle your own canoe!”

Patricia is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Lewis and Ellen; siblings: Louise Levora, Lawrence Thompson, Irving Thompson, Catherine Fonken and Lillian Thompson along with their spouses as well as nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Patty will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family.
