Fund Raiser for Julie Mills Carlson
Posted Tuesday, February 16, 2010 09:12 PM
I don't know if you were aware of it, but, Julie Carlson (Mills) has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  Julie has fell upon hard times on another front.  Her health insurance policy has been "dissolved".  There is a fund raiser for her to be held March 1 at the St Henry church dining hall from 5:00-730 PM.  I attempted to access our reunion site to post this bad news, to no avail.  Perhaps you could assist with a notification so that those of us who cannot attend, but are in a position to contribute by absentee, could send their support.  I'll  share the information as it was written on the flyer:
In December of 2009, Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer.  Shortly thereafter, Julie became aware that her current group health insurance policy was being dissolved.  The diagnosis of cancer made Julie ineligible for a standard individual health plan other than the state mandate health insurance plan.  The state mandate health insurance plan is very expensive with the high out of pocket cost..."

Could you facilitate a message to our classmates so that those in a position to send financial support could send their contributions to Citizens Savings Bank, PO box 477, Marshalltown. IA 50158 c/o Julie Support Fund.

Benefit for Julie Carlson

Spaghetti Dinner

March 1

St. Henry’s Dinning Hall

st, 2010 5:00 to 7:30 pm

221 West Olive Street, Marshalltown

$5.00 per person

There will also be a silent auction as part of the benefit.

In December 2009, Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Shortly thereafter, Julie became aware that her current group health insurance policy was being dissolved. The diagnoses of cancer made Julie ineligible for a standard individual health plan other than the state mandate health insurance plan. The state mandate health insurance plan is very expensive with high out of pocket cost. Due to the unforeseen circumstances, family and friends of Julie and Tate are sponsoring the Spaghetti Dinner to help them with medical expenses.
