Karen Nail (Rector)

Karen Sue Rector-Nail, 61, of Martinsville, died 11:51 a.m. Monday at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

Born Oct. 3, 1947, in Martinsville, she was the daughter of Orville and Virginia (Oaks) Nail Jr.

She was a graduate of Martinsville High School.

She was a homemaker and caregiver for her mother.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She enjoyed training race horses in Oklahoma, reading, drawing, painting, gardening and had a love for animals.

Survivors include four daughters, Renee Earl of Mooresville, Sheena Casey of Indianapolis, Heather Hutsear of Westfield and Brandi Lynn Rector of Pensacola, Fla.; one son, Vernon “Joey” Richards of Germany; four grandchildren, Chance and Blake Earl, Mark and Samantha Hutsear; four brothers, Dennis Nail and Wayne Nail, both of Mooresville, Warren Nail of Martinsville and Eddie Nail of Quincy; four sisters, Brenda Wilson and Naomi Newkirk, both of Cloverdale, Rena Boyd of Tennessee and Midge Nail of Kentucky; and her mother, Virginia Nail of Martinsville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Nail Jr.; two brothers, Mike Nail and Mark Nail; and one sister, Donna Nail.

A celebration of life service will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center in Martinsville, with the Rev. Don Endsley officiating. Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery in Martinsville.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan County Humane Society, 690 W. Mitchell Ave., Martinsville, IN 46151.
