Jesse was a great guy.  So sad to hear of his passing but knowing he gave his life for his country I have to say thanks.  Too young and too sad that he died this way.

Remembering and honoring Jesse on the anniversary of his passing, 23 February 1969, while serving our country in Vietnam.

I met Jesse in Don Snyder's 8th grade woodworking shop class.  We were "benchmates."  Jesse was a fun guy to hang around with, mischevious like me.  I remember the time he grabbed a ketchup dispenser of wood glue  squirted a few drops on Snyder's stool and Snyder sat on it!  Jesse spent the next few days setting across from me at our "bench" with his fingers clamped in a wood vice!

Snyder resigned from teaching, returned to college and became a dentist, practicing in Martinsville.  I was a patient of his before moving to Columbus.  On one of my visits, I mentioned Jesse's prank.  Snyder recalled it, laughed, but was saddened when I told him of Jesse's passing.

Rest in peace my friend, I miss you.

Let us always remember all our classmates who served, but especially those like Jesse who gave their lives defending our freedom.
