Davis Nester

Mark Davis Nester was born March 11, 1960 and died Sunday May 12, 1996 at the early age of 36.

Davis married his high school sweetheart Leslie Pedigo; they enjoyed several years of happiness as a married couple at such a young age.

Davis is shown in this picture of the football team on the back row,

about in the middle, with a 70 on his jersey.

During the wrestling season, he sported a mohawk haircut to intimidate his opponents.

Below is a copy of an e-mail sent to Alice Lusk Aaron for Davis Nester,  written by his brother Russ.

Mark Davis Nester was born March 11, 1960 and died Sunday May 12, 1996 at the early age of 36.

He was the 7th son, or the 10th child, of Raymond W. Nester and Evelyn V. Lawrence Nester to be followed by brother's Fred and Chris.

Davis spent the majority of his childhood at 719 Stultz Rd., the north side of Martinsville, Virginia where he lived among his 11 siblings, mother and father and for a short with grandparents of my mother. Full house.

Along with his success with high school football and wrestling, he also loved big cars and he loved being fancy. I remember once he had painted that atrocious long red Cadillac. I look back now and believe he was a true artist and lived and died the life of a true artist.

The name Davis was my mother's mother maiden name and a name that we Nester's are very proud of. My mother's mother father, my great grandfather was named Calvin Davis and was from Snow Creek where the Davis family had generations earlier received land grants from Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson had given land grants in effort to get folks to settle throughout Virginia.

Davis married his high school sweetheart Leslie Pedigo and they enjoyed several years of happiness as a married couple at such a young age.

Alice, Sorry it took so long getting back to you, you have probably had the reunion already, but thanks for your interest and kindness. We all loved Davis dearly and think of him still, everyday. Congrats on you family's success. Doug was always a bright smiley young kid, glad to hear you got him straightened out. Hope all your Luck relatives are doing well also and give Mike a hello. We all had a great childhood.

Thanks Again for your interest, Russ Nester
