Gary Lawrence passed away April 2, 2006.

Gary Samuel Lawrence, 45, of 355 Old Liberty Road, Martinsville, died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at his home.

He was born in Martinsville on March 23, 1961 to Richard Durham Lawrence Sr. and Helen Clark Lawrence.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was an auto parts dealer at Compton Auto Parts and a member of Broad Street Christian Church.  He was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop No. 336.  Surviving are his sister, Cheryl L. Kasey of Martinsville, three brothers, Billy Lawrence of Martinsville, Tom Lawrence of Duvall, Wash, and Richard D. Lawrence Jr. of Smith Mountain Lake.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with Rev. James Dickerson officiating.  Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.  The family received friends for an hour and a half before the funeral.
