A memorial mass for Richard James Potter, Jr., of Ridgeway, who died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at his home, will be at noon Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.  Father Joseph Torretto will officiate.

Potter was born October 10, 1960, to Richard James Potter Sr. of Bassett and Lori Meeks Tucker of Martinsville. 

He was a self-employed vinyl siding installer, and he was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Surviving, in addition to his parents are a sister, Michelle A. Potter of Fredicksburg: a brother Troy A. Potter of Chatham; a stepmother, Mary Frances Potter of Bassett; and a stepfather, Ralph T. Tucker of Martinsville.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church Building Fund, 2381 Spruce St. Martinsville, VA  24112.
