Thurman Leon Preston, 59, of Martinsville, VA, departed this life peacefully at the home of his brother, Elder Alan Preston, on Friday, May 24, 2019.  He was born in Martinsville, VA on April 13, 1960 to the late Carl Matthew Preston and the late Mary Elizabeth Wade Preston.

Thurman was a member of Refuge Temple Ministries, and graduated from Martinsville High School , class of 1977.  

In addition to his parents, Thurman was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Marshall Preston; two sisters, Jeanette and Teresa Preston.

Thurman leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers, Carl, Matthew, and Elder Alan (Gloria) Preston all of Martinsville, VA; eight sisters, Carolyn Taylor, Judy (Robert) Goggins, Tammy Dillard, Brenda Preston, Norma (Timothy) Patterson, Regina Preston, Aileen (Leroy) Wells, and Lisa (Leon) Richardson all of Martinsville, VA; two aunts, Willie Mae Brown of Martinsville,  VA and Louise Scott of Fieldale, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, whom he loved dearly, and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services, on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 and other times at the home of his older brother Elder Alan Preston, 215 Clearview Drive, Martinsville, VA. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 12;20 p.m. at Refuge Templ;e Ministries.  Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist.  Iterment will be at Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville VA.

Thurman was listed on our graduation program for the class of 79.  May Thurman rest in peace.
