To the many friends and loved ones of Gloria Janelle Duke (Poor):

It is with heavy hearts that Jenny and I announce the passing of our mom, Janelle.

For years, our mom spent the lion’s share of her energy and emotional capital, managing the unforgiving demands of Parkinson’s, a disease which wreaks havoc on both mind and body.

By God’s grace, Mom is now freed of that burden, newly built, pain-free in her holy form. Our great encouragement, we now rest in the certainty she is in her heavenly home, surrounded by the many friends and loved who’ve gone on before.

As many of you know, Mom’s time here on Earth bore no shortage of family connection and the deep and abiding bonds of friendship.

Accordingly, we invite you to join our family, as we joyfully reflect on the very full life of our mom, Janelle.

Services will be held at her home church in Wheat Ridge, CO. Shortly thereafter, she will be laid to rest in Missouri, alongside her parents, our grandparents, with whom she is, no doubt, currently playing a good game of Spades or Rummy.
