Obituary (Appeal-Democrat, 20 November 2001):

Philip E. Bernardis, 58, of Marysville died Nov. 17, 2001 at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

Born in Stockton, he was a lifelong Yuba-Sutter resident.

He was a retired substation mechanic for Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

Also, he was a member of the Elks Lodge, the LaPorte chapter of E. Clamus Vitus and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Bernardis of Marysville; two sons, Brian Bernardis of Browns Valley, and Michael Bernardis of Marysville; three stepdaughters, Andrea Smith and Alysen Hurt, both of Marysville, and Alyce Brown of Conroe, Texas; his parents, Barbara and Warren Bernardis of Marysville; a brother, John Bernardis of Marysville; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or E. Clampus Vitus.

Services: A service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Elks Lodge, 920 D St., Marysville. Inurnment arrangements are under the direction of Sierra View Mortuary.
