George R. Cosby 67, of Gridley passed away November 20, 2009 at Enloe Hospital in Chico, CA from a long battle with Cancer. Born September 22, 1942 in Elmore, Oklahoma. George was a life long resident of the Yuba Sutter area. He was a farm equipment mechanic. Survivors include his son, Bob Cosby of Gridley; son, Mark Cosby of Salt Lake City, Utah; granddaughter, Janae Cosby of Gridley; granddaughter, Jordyn Cosby of Gridley; granddaughter, Megan Cosby of Ogden, Utah; sister, Ruby Abbott of Marysville; sister, Goldie Christy of Marysville; and brother, Larry Cosby of Marysville.  George was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Cosby and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Cosby. Notes by Jim Roof: George was one of my oldest friends from Olivehurst. We grew up around the corner from each other and went all through grade school and high school together. He and his first wife Lynda came all the way down to San Jose to be at my and Marsha's wedding in 1972. I remember well his son's Mark and Bobby as well as his brother Larry and sisters Ruby and Goldie.
