A memorial service will be held Sunday for Darrel J. Hoffman of San Diego, who died April 21, 1987, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in La Jolla. He was 44 and a former Yuba County resident.
He graduated from Marysville High School and Yuba College. He continued his education, receiving a doctorate in political science from Syracuse University.
His education was interrupted by two years of military service in 1969-70.
He worked in the Mendocino-Ukiah area providing private psychological counseling.
He moved to San Diego and began an internship to become a licensed psychological therapist.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Hoffman of San Diego; a son, Michael Hoffman of Stockton; a daughter, Ramona Hoffman of Florida; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffman of Olivehurst; a brother, George Hoffman of Petaluma; and three sisters, Barbara Woodward of Yuba City, Carol Lenhard of Browns Valley and Kathryn Macomber of Roseville.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Macomber's home, 7595 Memory Lane, Roseville.
