Herbert "Herb" Royce Craghead, 66, of Rigby, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his home from compications of an illness.

Herb was born July 9, 1942, in Checotan, Okla. He is the third of eight children born to Allen Benjamin Craghead and Vera Mae White Craghead. The family moved to California, where Herb was raised and attended schools. He graduated from Marysville Union High School in the Class of 1960. After school, he joined the Southern California Carpenters Union, where he worked for 25 years as a master Sheetrocker.

He married Sherian Morby in 1962. They had a daughter, Kimberly. They later divorced. Herb served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. Herb married Dedee Buchanan in California in 1968, mother of Ward and Stacy Buchanan; sadly, Dedee passed away in 1985. In 1986, Herb married Jackie Lanfranco of California, and they later divorced. Herb moved to Las Vegas. He joined the Southern Nevada Carpenters Union, where he spent 10 years working as a finish carpenter on the new resort casinos. In 2001, he moved to Rigby, Idaho, to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren. Herb was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed motorcross riding, speedboats, camping, and get-togethers with his friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Rex) Noreen of Rigby; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Eva Redman of Wheatland, Calif., Phillis (Bill) Luke of Yuma, Ariz., Carletta Nissen of Yuba City, Calif., Linda (Rick) Ricker of Windsor, Calif., Joyce (David) Young of Canyon City, Colo., Norman (Wilma) Craghead and Gary (Judy) Craghead of Tigard, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements are under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
