I did not know Mike until after high school. I remember hearing of him by the nickname "Detroit". After I met Mike we became very good friends. I later became good friends with his whole family. At one time we were inseperable while I was laid off from Alcoa. Every night was a blast. Mike was a true friend that would do anything for you. His death was surely one of the low points in my life.

Michael Wilson became my brother-in-law after he had passed away in 1977. I was married to his brother Ricky in 1984. I had known him since we were thirteen years old. He was a very special person. He had a big heart. I have a son that looks, and is built a lot like him. His name is Cody Wilson. His death was s shock and a hugh loss to our families. We still miss and think of him today.

Mike was one of my very best friends at the time of his death. He had just left my brother Allan's home shortly before the accident that claimed his life. I remember getting a big bear hug when I left that night from my brothers. My son's middle name is Michael in memory of him.
I now live in Johnson City and it seems that when I'm down that way anymore I rarely see anyone I grew up with. But it is funny that I was down that way on Monday 29th of Dec. and on my way back out of town I stopped to get gas and who should I see but Ricky Wilson. All yankees and foreigners now. Well at least it is the fastest growing county in the state right now so maybe that is some good news economically for those of you who still live there.
Anyone who sees this and remembers me my profile (short) is on site here with my e-mail adress so feel free to contact me.
