MASON CITY — Jason K. Clark, age 35, of 618 S. Taylor Ave., died on Thursday (Dec. 14, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, at First Baptist Church, 125 E. State St., Mason City, with the Rev. Ronald Stein and the Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating. Burial will be in the Sheffield Cemetery at Sheffield.

Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service only on Monday.

Jason Keith Clark was born on Oct. 4, 1971, to Ellsworth and Karen Rose (Haverly) Clark in Mason City, Iowa. He attended Rockwell Elementary School and graduated from Mason City High School. He attended college at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D.

Jason was a fifth generation musician, performing with several bands, most recently, with the Clark Family Band. Jason was the youngest person to win the Iowa State Fiddle Championship. He was a four time national fiddle champion and a three time Irish fiddle champion.

Jason was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed working with the Awana Youth Group as a leader. He loved to boat, cook and especially loved his pets.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of Mason City; parents, Ellsworth and Karen Clark, of Mason City; stepchildren, Michelle Schettler of Monticello, Minn., Valerie (Dr. Nathan) Steinle of Lexington, Ky., Michael Schettler of Rochester, Minn., Robert Schettler of LeMars, Iowa; brother, James Clarence (Elizabeth) Clark, of Nashville, Tenn.; special uncle, Clarence Clark, of Mason City; uncle, Keith (Barbie) Haverly, of Anthem, Ariz.; along with other relatives and friends.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ira and Rose Clark and James and Rose Haverly.
