Obituary

Judy Rake, age 61, of the Town of Calamus, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
 
Friends and family may call at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where a prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.  On Thursday, August 16, 2007, people may call at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 127 W. Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Fr. John Schreiter will officiate.  Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
 
The former Judith Ann Marion was born on December 27, 1945 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to the late Harold and Marie (Spannbauer) Marion.  She was a graduate of Mayville High School, class of 1964.  On April 19, 1969, Judy was united in marriage with Jacob J. Rake in LeRoy, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death on February 26, 2003.  Judy farmed throughout her entire life.  She also worked as a nursing assistant at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac for about five years; a job she really enjoyed.  A loving mother, Judy's children were her life and she devoted much of her time to them. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam and she was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
 
Survivors include three children, Mary Rake (fiancé, Greg Justman) of Calamus Township, Jacob Rake, II of Calamus Township, and Joe Rake of Westford Township, five brothers and sisters, Kathy (Bill) Emmer of Fond du Lac, Betty (Rick) Baker of Fond du Lac, Dick (Diane) Marion of Johnsburg, Sue (John) Brelka of Mayville and John (Pam) Marion of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
 
The family suggests that memorials be made in Judy A. Rake's name to St. Katharine Drexel School.  The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family. Online condolences may be made on our website at www.murrayfh.com.
