I am so sad to hear about Johnny's passing. Most people dont' know how close he and I were in high school. We spent a lot of time with other friends going so many places in my white, Buick Special convertible during our junior and senior year of high school. I have never forgotten the words he said to me the summer before I left for college. He said, "Don't ever change". I hope that I haven't. May you rest in peace old friend. You left wonderful memories.

So sorry to hear about John's passing. I remember John, as always being happy, very energetic and fast as hell. No matter how hard I tried, I could not beat him in the 100 yard dash or the 220. He held the school record and then broke his own record with I believe a 9.8 seconds in 100. He's probably the fastest sprinter the Mayville track team ever had, or very close to it. Another thing I remember .... when he moved to Mayville from Milwaukee, he brought with him the art of dancing. None of the guys really knew how to dance at old sock hops but John changed that. Stan, my deepest condolences to you and your family.
