Robert Edward Naber, age 55 of Blanchardville died of a sudden heart attack on April 4, 2001 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe.  Robert was born on March 26, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to James Carmody and Hildegard Keske and was adopted by Herbert and Ruth (Seim) Naber.

He grew up in Mayville, Wisconsin, at the age of 16 his family moved to Waunakee where he graduated from High School.  He then went into the Navy where he served in Key West, Florida and other bases.  He sailed on the Robert Perry for much of his duty during the Viet Nam War.  He served as a Sonar Radar Specialist.  After leaving the Navy he married Jean Richards, they were later divorced.  On August 29, 1992 he married Deborah Lynn Brown.  Robert and Deborah moved to Blanchardville in 1992.  He was a member of the Waunakee American Legion Post #360.  He loved the Packers, stamp collecting, the Badgers, cars, auto racing and his family.

Robert is survived by his wife, Deborah Naber of Blanchardville; three children Katie (Mark) Lisi of Blanchardville, Christopher (Theresa) Crawley and Patricia Crawley of Madison; his mother, Hildegard Keske of Hubertus Wisconsin; two grandchildren with one on the way; a brother Kevin (Patty) Carmody; and twin sisters, Kathi (D.J.) Haugh and Karen (Randy) Nesbit, both of Milwaukee.  He was preceded in death by his birth father and his wife, James (Helen) Carmody; his parents Herbert and Ruth Naber; and a brother, Brian Carmody.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 8, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. at the Saether Funeral Home in Blanchardville. Reverend Mark Gruner of the Pecatonia Lutheran Parish officiated. Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau at 1:00p.m. Monday April 9, 2001.
