Obituary
Paul J. Steger, 57, of Brownsville, passed away Aug. 2, 2004 at his home after a courageous, five-year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Elaine C. (nee Rettler). Dear father of Barb (Ryan) Liebert, Bonnie (Jim) Narance, Brenda (Hugo) Rodriguez, Paul Jr. (Tracy). Further survived by eight grandchildren, Katie and Mike Liebert, Samantha and Olivia Narance, Tony and Maria Rodriguez, and Amya and Hunter, his mother Olive (nee Weber), 2 sisters, Margie (Robert) Giese and Mary Ann (Tom) Hechimovich, 2 sisters- in-law, Jeanette (Jerry) Downing and Bernice Rettler, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, 1 brother, Ray, and his parents-in-law, Leo (Asella Baier) Rettler. He was a truck driver for Widmer Cheese Factory, West Bend Elevator, Dairyland Seed, and for the last 27 years, Sysco Food Services. He participated in Sysco, State and two National Truck Competitions. He was the State Driver of the Month (April 1993). He was the past president and vice-president of the Wisconsin Assoc. of Truck Driving Champions. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Lomira and was a Theresa Little League Coach.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thurs., Aug. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lomira. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wed., Aug. 4, from 4-8 PM at the funeral home with a prayer vigil at 7:30. Visitation will continued on Thurs. at church from 10-11:15 a.m.
