Gloria Annette Strickland (Maxey)

Jerry passed away February 6, 2006 as the result of complications of Periodic Paralysis, one of the Muscular Dystrophy diseases. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi. He was retired from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service after 33 years of service. He was survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Annette, and Daughter Nancy Ellen Powell and husband, Mark Powell and their daughter Ainsley of Frisco, Texas: also, his second daughter, Margaret Anne Ellis, husband Brad and son, Carson, of McKinney, Texas.

Jerry was a very caring person who kept his wife and family laughing and smiling, sometimes through tears. He was a hero who didn't complain as he lost the use of all of his muscles, but kept his faith. His family knows that we will see him again in another place. We were blessed to have him in our lives.

Jerry was a wonderful friend. Our fathers worked together many years in the grocery business and were friends also. Jerry will be missed by more than just Texas friends and family, but his classmates here in McComb.
