Stanley S. Scott went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2023. He was born on February 9, 1930, in McCook, Nebraska, to Hazel Ruth Barbazette and Rex Ernest Scott. Stan attended the University of Nebraska, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He graduated in 1952, with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and discharged at the end of the Korean War. Stan married Jacqueline Alice McIlmoyle on August 31, 1952, and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he worked for Allis Chalmers as a Compressor Application Engineer. They had two daughters, Theresa Lynn, born on February 23, 1954, and Diane Marie, born on July 31, 1957. In 1959, the family relocated to Houston, Texas, where he worked as a Compressor Sales Engineer for Dresser Industries and traveled the world. In 1961, another daughter, Sylvia Ann, was born on September 26, 1961. The family joined St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in 1959, and built a life around their church and school community, Stan was an Eagle Scout which he valued more than any other award in his life, and through which he learned to love the outdoor life of camping, hunting, fishing and an appreciation for the wonder of God's creation. He passed on this love to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by organizing frequent camping, fishing, hunting, canoe and crabbing trips. He believed the most valuable things in life were his faith and family and it was on these outings that his family grew close, shared in each other's lives and formed bonds which will live on. Stanley is predeceased by his wife, Jackie, and brother Frank Scott. He is survived by his three daughters, Theresa Cornett and her husband, Ron, Diane Williams and her husband, Charlie, Sylvia McPartland and her husband, Sean (deceased); nine grandchildren, Brian Curtice and his wife Roberta, Erin Knape and her husband, Hal, Mark Cornett, Christin Braeuer and her husband, Mike, Cori Mitchell and her husband, Travis, Taylor Williams and his wife, Victoria, Brendan McPartland and his wife, Ashton, Michael McPartland and his wife, Savannah, and Kevin McPartland; and nineteen great grandchildren, Tyler Shimp, Ethan Shimp, Catherine Knape, Harrison, Knape, Hampton Knape, Salem Braeuer, Elsie Braeuer, Josiah Braeuer, John Thomas Braeuer, Timothy Mitchell, Titus Mitchell, William Mitchell, Liberty Williams, Canaan Williams, Sean McPartland, Maeve McPartland, Maggie McPartland, Caroline McPartland and Vivienne McPartland. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood Street, Houston, Texas. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
