Dean Schmidt - Class Of 1964

Dean L Schmidt

August 1, 1945- July 21, 2023

 Dean L. Schmidt passed away in Lakewood, CO on July, 21 2023. Dean was born in Cambridge, NE on August 1, 1945. As a young boy his family moved to McCook, NE where he grew up.

Dean left McCook to fight as a Marine in the Vietnam war. Once he completed his military service, he wed his high school sweet heart Bernadette Sundem. They moved to Lakewood, CO where they resided for over 55 years.

Dean worked most of his career as a dock worker for the truck lines. Dean had a passion for restoring old cars and home renovations. He was a family man, who was known around his neighborhood as the guy who would fix anything mechanical and help any neighbor.

Dean was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Roger Schmidt and wife Bernadette Schmidt. He is survived by his daughter Jacque Schmidt.

March 2024  - Dean’s daughter Jacque sent this obituary and photo of Dean when he was in his 40’s. He didn’t like his photo taken.    

 

Dean was buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, City and County of Denver, Colorado.  CPL US  Marine Corps – Vietnam
