Frances Bones (Blomstedt) - Class Of 1969

 

March 21, 1951 - Sept. 5, 2018 PALISADE, Neb. — Frances Marie (Bones) Blomstedt was born on March 21, 1951, to John P. Bones and Ida M. (Pratt) Bones, at St. Catherine's Hospital in McCook, Neb. Frances has one surviving sibling, Sister Catherine Ann Bones, SCL, of Kearney, Neb. Frances attended St. Patrick's Elementary and Junior High School, and attended McCook High School where she graduated in 1969. Frances also attended Kearney State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Education in 1986. Frances then attended UNK to further her education in 2004, studying English as a Second Language for her Masters. Frances met her husband, Dennis C. Blomstedt, in March of 1969, and they were soon married on Jan. 27, 1970, in Hendersonville, N.C. They made their home in Palisade and began their adventure together as husband and wife, being fully committed and loving each other for 48 years, seven months, eight days. Together they raised nine children: Melissa Palmer with husband, Dwayne, of North Platte, Neb.; Matthew Blomstedt with wife, Angela, of Central City, Neb.; Jeremy Blomstedt with wife, Amy, of Lincoln, Neb.; John Blomstedt with wife, Laura , of Tryon, Neb.; Vincent Blomstedt with wife, Morgan, of Cook, Neb.; Peter Blomstedt of Palisade; Stephen Blomstedt with wife, Sandrine, of New York, N.Y.; Timothy Blomstedt with wife, Hannah of Garden City, Kan.; and JoanAnn Blomstedt of Lincoln. Frances has a total of 16 grandchildren: Melissa’s children: Jeffrey, Cassandra and fiancé, Phil Schlagel, Nicholas, Elizabeth Heskett, and Shemar Palmer; Matt’s children: Emily, Megan, Katelynn, Claire and Erik Blomstedt; Vincent’s children: Catherine, Abigail, Edith, and Vincent Blomstedt; Stephen’s daughter: Lesley Blomstedt; and Tim’s son: Carl Blomstedt (Ages ranging from four years old to 26 years old). Frances worked at Hayes Center Public Schools from 1986-1987. Other employment included Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Heritage of Wauneta and Farrell's Pharmacy/Hallmark in McCook. Frances was involved with Girl Scouts, 4-H, Beta Sigma Phi, Xi Gamma Chi chapter, VFW Auxiliary in Palisade, Holy Family Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Frances also enjoyed being involved with the Spanish speaking community and would go to the Spanish Masses at St. Patrick's in McCook. Frances had many hobbies including gardening, making Rosaries, cake decorating, baking, sewing and crocheting, but her favorite hobbies were being a wife, mother and a grandmother. Frances was diagnosed with dementia in her early 60s and began living at Linden Court Nursing Home in North Platte in October 2017. All of the nurses loved spending time with her and listening to her stories about her family and friends Frances was known as a person who loved everyone she met and was accepting of who people were, without question. She was one of a kind, full of love and care for anyone who wished for it. Frances passed away Wednesday evening, Sept. 5, 2018, at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte. Frances was 67 years, five months, 14 days, of age. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Ida Bones; two unborn babies; and one still-born, Jeffrey Patrik. A funeral mass will be Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, 10 a.m. (CT), at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of McCook with Father Bernard Lorenz celebrating, and Fr. Christopher Miller and Fr. Lothar Gilde, co-celebrants. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, McCook. A Rosary will be recited, today, Sept. 10, 2018, 7 p.m. (CT) at the Holy Family Catholic Parish Hall in Palisade. Visitation will be today, Sept. 10, 2018, until 6 p.m. (CT) at Holy Family Catholic Parish Hall, Palisade. Memorials have been suggested to the Nebraska Special Olympics, P.O. Box 836, Omaha, NE 68101-086. Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta is entrusted with arrangements.
