Joanie Blanchar Tyler said, "I remember when Joe came to McFarland in 3rd grade. He was kind, gentle, and always smiling. As we got older that never changed. He was a friend to all. He was big into the arts and band. He went on to do theatre for years to follow. I was at his funeral last year. God got an angel, but we lost a wonderful man. I'll never forget how good he was to me. Thanks Joe, never forgotten."

Joe was one of my very best friends in school. We use to hang out together all the time. He was extremely talented, even in school. I always knew he would live his dream of becoming an actor, which he did. I saw him a few months before he died and I will always remember the laughter and tears we shared that day. I loved him then and I will love him now. RIP my dear friend for someday we will meet again.
