Splinter, Matthew Donald

MCFARLAND - Matthew Donald Splinter, age 30, of McFarland, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 23, 2005. He was born on May 22, 1975, in Janesville, the son of Donald and Joanne Splinter. Matt graduated from McFarland High School with the class of 1993. He loved to play softball, and played in leagues in McFarland, Monona, and with his dad in Stoughton. He thoroughly enjoyed having his mother and sisters come and watch his softball games. Matt also liked to go deer hunting with his grandfather, Frank; cousin, Shane; and his dad, Don. He had scores of friends, and everyone that met Matt really enjoyed his company. Matt liked camping, watching football, and wrestling with the family dog, Buster. He was always there to lend a helping hand for whomever needed it. Matt will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Joanne Splinter; sisters, Gayle Splinter (Curt Sharkey) and Sondra Splinter; grandfather, Frank (Mary Katherine) Splinter; aunts and uncles, Sue Buttchen, Dan Buttchen, Patty (Rollie) Manthei, Brenda (Roger) Quick, Sue Hayes, John (Linda) McCarthy, Diane (Bill) Koeberl; and many, many cousins and close friends. "After Glow" I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing time bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
