I was checking out this site to see the pictures posted from the reunion and though I knew Alan had passed, seeing this blank space seemed to call out to me. Alan was anything but a blank space. The guy literally took up all the oxygen in every room I ever saw him in. The booming voice, the lousy jump shot and lack of vertical leap made my early attempts on the basketball court more fun and more meaningful. I can honestly say without Alan around the gym, without him busting on Chisholm each and every day, I probably would have quit hoops my freshman year...which means no college for me....so thanks Baise...his spirit is as big now for me as it ever was....he brought so many of us together in simple moments, in ways I suspect he never knew...and ways I'll never forget.
