ROWAN David G. Rowan (Age 55) Of Washington, DC, formerly of Oakton, VA who died peacefully at home July 6, 2016. David is survived by his beloved wife, Marilou Poulin Rowan; and children, Danielle Rowan McDermott (Jacob) and Andrew Patrick Rowan. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Lucey Rowan; aunt, Joan Lucey Donnelly siblings, Paul E. Rowan, Mark C. Rowan; and Virginia Rowan Pommer and 14 nieces and nephews. He joins his beloved father, Eugene F. Rowan. David was born in Rockville Centre, NY and grew up in Port Washington, NY and McLean, VA. After high school David graduated from Fairfield University, where he met his wife, of 32 years, Marilou. Together they settled in Northern Virginia where he founded Capitol Marking Products in Arlington, VA. David had an incredible zest for life and devoted himself to his family, friends, and those in need. He loved playing tennis, cards, and debating politics. David believed in service to the poor and was an active volunteer with Food for Others. A man of strong faith and conviction, David will be missed by the many people whom he supported through his too short time on earth. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Joseph Gawler''s Sons Funeral Home, 5130 Wisconsin Ave., Washington, DC on July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held July 9, at 11 a.m. at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 3630 Quesada St., NW, Washington, DC 20015. A burial will follow at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd. In lieu of flowers, David would like gifts to be made to support leukemia research at Penn''s Abramson Cancer Center.
