Deanna D. Strella, 70, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 23rd, 2013, peacefully, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas.
Deanna was born in McPherson, Kansas on October 28, 1942, a daughter of the late Catherine Annabelle (Hutchins) and John Roland Christiansen.

Deanna attended and graduated from the Centerview country school and McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas.

She attended the Free Methodist Church McPherson, Kansas.

Deanna worked as a secretary at WR Mill, was a partner along with her husband, Bob, owning and operating Strella Upholstery & Drapery in McPherson, Kansas, She retired from Hutchinson Correctional Facility Sewing Department manager after eighteen years.

She was a foster mother in her early years. She was active in helping to organize her McPherson High School class reunions and visiting with her dear sisters-in-law, Ruth Yowell and Marilyn Pope.

Deanna Christiansen was united in marriage to Robert L. "Bob" Strella on August 18, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson, Kansas.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; two sons,Tim Strella and Darren (Amy) Strella, of Pace, Florida; two daughters, Theresa "Traci" (Jim) Parks, of Cedar Park, Texas and Kate (Chad) Sears, of McPherson, Kansas; a brother Jim (Cheryl) Christiansen, of McPherson, Kansas; many beloved grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents, John Roland and Catherine Annabelle Christiansen, her stepmother, Ruby Christiansen, a sister, Patricia A. "Pat" Schroeder; and a daughter-in-law, Sherli Strella.

Tom and I are very saddened by the loss of Deanna! She was always so kind! We were neighbors for awhile when we first had children. I always looked forward to seeing her and catching up at re-unions! She will certainly be missed! Our hearts and prayers go out to her family!

The most vivid thing about Deanna was her positive attitude and her constant smile which was genuinely friendly .

She will be missed by her family and close friends, but also by her classmates!  Our condolences to the family.  Ruth Burch Anderson.

Bob and Family,

You are in our hearts and prayers at this sad time.  I will always remember Deanna's   sweet smile and always so friendly. I know she was a wonderful wife, Mother and Grandma. My husband Darrell (Dick) remembers working with her at the prison in Hutch for 17 years. A wonderful person we will always rembember her and miss her.
