Yes! Attending Reunion

I've lived in Ohio since getting married. Ron and I had our first date 56 years ago in August of this year. How can that be? We've lived in Cleveland, Ashtabula, Coshocton, and have been in Mount Vernon for over 30 years. Ron has owned his business over 30 years, Knox Electrical Construction, and I worked out of my home as an interior decorator for over 40 years. I LOVE being "Meemaw" to my 8 grandkids who range in age from 24 to 15. We like to travel - I belong to 4 bridge clubs and have taken up Mahjong which I manage to play 2 to 3 times a week. I love to go gambling - Ron is finally retired. My great passion in life is cooking, and I seem to do a lot of it. I love to entertain, so come and see us. I love keeping in contact with my good friends who have been with me since grade school and high school. I've had a couple of weekend mini-reunions with these friends at my house. Patty Costello Stimmel and I went to Holland to visit Yvonne Mulder. We were there eleven days and it was a fabulous adventure. What an absolutely beautiful country, and Yvonne was the most gracious hostess. We have a grandson who graduated from West Point who will be stationed in Italy in Intelligence group for 5 years, 1 grandson is a police office in Columbus, OH, 1 grandson just graduated from U of GA and embarking on a new career in WI, - and 5 still in high school.

School Story:

Went to East End, the old high school, and the new MASH. I got to go back to visit the old high school (Middle School) at Ron's reunion last summer and hope that I can get to see the high school this year. I remember about 15 of us girls all dressing alike in our beige skirts, red sweaters, white collars, and bullet bags walking down Walnut St to our first day at our new (now the old one) high school, getting our faces painted with lipstick as freshmen and going to Conneaut Lake Park as "big-shots", going to Jack's for Mexican sundaes, the Saturday night dances, and for me, being a MASH cheerleader, which for me was a priviledge and an honor. I remember going to the fair every summer and Costas pizza which I would give anything to taste again (and am hoping to have at the reunion), and of course, Eddie's and Hanks. I remember sitting in front of my best friend, Rosemary Palmiero, all 12 years of school. I remember our many pajama parties and believe it or not, many of these friends have managed to get together several times over the years. Of course, we really CANNOT be turning 76 - can we??? Good health and happy memories to all my classmates!

The years come and go
with many highlights
such as your travel with Pat
to come and see me
my country and family,
I sure often think of that!
Although we lost track
due to getting older
I want to tell you once more
how special it was to be my guest
how special and thank-you therefore!
Happy birthday Connie, Yvonne

Happy Birthday Trink. Ron and I drive up to our neighborhood a few weeks ago. It's apparent how many years ago we lived there. I will always have fond memories of our growing up neighbors. Hope you are happy in your new home. Connie
