Russell Thomas (Rusty) Hanaway

MEADVILLE — Russell Thomas (Rusty) Hanaway of Meadville, born Sept. 30, 1972, a son of William and Eva Hanaway, was taken too soon from his children, family and loved ones as a result of a tragic all-terrain vehicle accident on Saturday, May 7, 2011.

His passion in life was his children, Kaden William Hanaway, age 11, and Brooke Hope Hanaway, age 10.

Rusty was the owner of EnviroTech Restoration LLC and co-owner of Tech Molded Plastics Inc. of Meadville. He held a number of certifications in environmental reclamation services, was a journeyman toolmaker, and a 1991 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School. Rusty was dedicated to fitness and remained devoted to hockey throughout his life. Playing, coaching and supporting the sport within the community was a life-long endeavor. He lived life to the fullest and devoted his time to sharing experiences with his children and others who were fortunate to know him.

He was preceded in death by his father, William (Bill) Hanaway; and grandparents, G-father, G-mother and Oma. Surviving family members include son Kaden; daughter Brooke; the children’s mother and his former spouse, Dawn; mother Eva; brothers Scott, Mark and Doug; sisters-in-law Suzie, Marie and Autumn; cousins Mike, Jeff and Greg; and nephews Chase, Hunter, Kyle and Logan. Rusty will be greatly missed.

Viewing and respects will be held at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville, Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral will be conducted at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville, Wednesday at 11 a.m. and is open to all friends of the family.

Motorcyclists are encouraged to gather at New Beginnings Church of God and lead the procession to St. Agatha’s Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome in the name of Kaden Hanaway to CCYHA (Crawford County Youth Hockey Association) or Club Pet Adoption in honor of Brooke Hanaway.
