What Makes a Good Informal Event? Posted Monday, June 24, 2013 09:35 PM I suppose I'll get this started with providing some of the survey results from the e-mail responses I've received in May and early June. With regards to INFORMAL (i.e. no formal sit-down banquet) reunions, there was great interest when compared to the more formal sit-down banquet option. Reception to cost for a FORMAL event covered a wide range, with classmates being receptive to $35 to $50 a person. Certainly with an INFORMAL event, there would not be an established "cost" to attend, per se, but would merely be a gathering of classmates at a common venue with everyone free to purchase their own meals, drinks, et cetera, or to, perhaps, make it a picnic event. When it comes to venues for an INFORMAL reunion, some suggestions sent in included:
I'd like to generate some discussion among us to come up with ideas/suggestions on what type of venue everyone would be most receptive to if we were to hold an INFORMAL event. Certainly with having attended various reunions over the years (i.e. family, friends, co-workers, spouse high school, et cetera), you may have experienced great gatherings which promoted interaction, comfort, conversation, et cetera. Please, we want this to be a reunion that will be well-received and memorable. Your input is greatly important and appreciated.
