Have been in touch with Tom's son via linked in. He told me Tom  had passed away in Feb 2011 from Lung Cancer. When searching for him and I came across this obit..I figured I had the correct guy, as I remember him as friendly and humorous, and full of life.

Friendly and humorous, Tom loved to stay active and enjoy life to the fullest. He was co-owner of Paperback Trader in Woodbury Hgts., an accomplished ironworker for over 25 years with the Ferry Fence Company, and very handy at home building and rebuilding anything he could get his hands on. Tom frequently cheered on the Phillies, sometimes the Eagles and loved a good hard rockin’ song from Fleetwood Mac or George Thorogood. Evenings for Tom were spent watching Two and a Half Men Marathons and the best movie ever: Airplane!
