Glenn Michael Howard, 59, went to be with the Lord today, September 12th, 2015 after a 10 year battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. He was living in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and residing at Regency Eldercare. Glenn was born on April 7, 1956 in Melbourne, Florida at Brevard Hospital. He was the middle of three children born to Nancy Bockler Howard and the late David Collie Howard. He is also predeceased by his brother Neil David Howard. Glenn is survived by his wife of 34 years Connie Simmons Howard, daughter Michelle Joy Howard Rattigan (Shaun Rattigan), son Michael James Howard, and granddaughter Ave Michelle Rattigan, mother Nancy Howard Alexander (Jim), sister Ann Thompson (Victor), Uncle James Bockler (Glynda), Aunt Carol Faulk (George) father-in-law John Simmons (Mary Crouch), brothers-in-law Ed Simmons (Glynn) and Steve Simmons (Elaine) as wells several nieces and nephews. Glenn was employed by IBM where he had a 28 year career. He received a Bachelors in Trombone Performance and Master’s in Business from USF. Glenn played trombone in the orchestras at First Baptist Church Orlando and First Baptist Church of Atlanta. He was the Worship Leader and pianist at River Oaks Presbyterian Church and other churches throughout his life. He continued to blessed others with his musical talents until the Alzheimer’s Disease prevented him from doing so. Glenn was a loving husband, father, friend, and a man of faith with a servant heart. He enjoyed surfing, windsurfing, tennis, skiing, and traveling. Services will be held at Christ Community Church 1210 Mission Drive, New Smyrna Beach Florida on Saturday, September 19th, at 3pm.
