THOUGHT FOR CONSIDERATION

When you've been touched by sadness and grief,

it makes you vulnerable.

And because I am vulnerable, I try to be positive.

And when I say 'try,' I really do mean try,

because it's an effort.

THOUGHT FOR CONSIDERATION

Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and

the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced

by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with

patience and equanimity.

EXTENDING CONDOLENCES
TO
"AN UNSUNG HERO"

It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth - and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had. ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross ~

     Robert was indeed a "GREAT" man. A great man, not only to his family, but also to the Congregation of Mt. Moriah-East Baptist Church, numerous local Dentist and the Class of 1970. Robert was an integral provider of unselfish  support to numerous Alumni Committees, as we planned functions over the years. Marsha, Jimmy and James, you're absolutely correct, he will be sorely missed. Rest in Power Robert Bowie Junior. As we mourn his transition, let us continue to uplift his family in prayers. Amen, Amen.....

Psalm 118:5-6

5 I was in trouble, so I called to the Lord for help.
    The Lord answered and made me free.
6 The Lord is with me, so I will not be afraid.
    No one on earth can do anything to harm me.

THOUGHT FOR CONSIDERATION

Thought is a kind of opium;

it can intoxicate us,

while still broad awake;

it can make transparent the mountains and everything that exists.

Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself,

and know that everything in life has purpose.

There are no mistakes, no coincidences,

all events are blessings given to us to learn from.

THOUGHT FOR CONSIDERATION

This we know …

The earth does not belong to man;

man belongs to the earth.

All things are connected like the blood that unites one family.

Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it.

Whatever he does to the web he does to himself.

" HAPPY MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY "

THOUGHT FOR CONSIDERATION

We may have all come on different ships,

but we're in the same boat now.

~ Martin Luther King, Jr. ~

Non-Profit, Non-Partisan organization. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for economically disadvantaged families by providing the necessary resources that improve their standard of living, foster self improvement, self empowerment, and self sufficiency. This Agency is dedicated to those disenfranchised by situation circumstance or indifference. We distribute food in the community through Mary's Pantry that is located at 1408 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, N.C.

To celebrate Dr. King today, I've volunteered to work with the A. Phillip Randolph Institute, Inc. We will take donated items from the food bank, to distribute among the families living in HUD Housing here in Raleigh, NC. What's your day of service going to include, or will it just be a day off ????

The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was:

'If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?'

But... the good Samaritan reversed the question:

'If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?'

~ Martin Luther King, Jr. ~

Todays mission was accomplished ! ! !  Veterans and volunteers

from the North Carolina A. Phillip Randolph Institute, Inc,

united together, to help feed the less fortunate. Bountiful

blessings for all associated.....
