Charlie Oaks, Jr., 66 of Memphis, Tennessee died on Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee. Born Sunday, April 27, 1952, he was the son of the late Charlie Oaks, Sr. and the late Mamie Black Oaks.
He was the loving husband of Liretha Akins Oak and devoted father to Charlie Akins and Angela Akins.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at R S Lewis & Sons Funeral Home, 2944 Walnut Grove Rd. Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, TN.

As the President and CEO of the Mid-South Food Bank, Estella was recently honored among the "2019 Memphis Living Legends". Under the theme of "Celebrating Outstanding and Dedicated Service" our classmate and friend was one of the 18 current and former Memphian honorees, as well as one posthumous honoree from Fayette County.
Estella has always heard "her own" inner voice and lived by what she heard. Some of us may have thought that she was crazy, she wasn't. She was just preparing to become a LEGEND! Congrats to you and Rev. Dr. Rosalyn R. Nichols, the daughter of our BELOVED, Mary Nichols....As stated by Pastor Darell L. Harington Febuary 24th "was a day of celebration, where we honor so many, who mean so much to so many"....

Hi Classmates. Kenneth asked me to continue to believe in miracles and I will. The gift I have been given to reach 67 years of age today is a miracle in itself.
