Edgar Morris

Edgar Morris, Jr. was born March 29, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee, son of the late Edgar Morris, Sr. and Frezia Mae Sellers Morris. He was a loving and compassionate husband, devoted father, grandfather, stepfather and trustworthy friend. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High in 1970 and attended Shelby State Community College (Southwest Community College). Edgar was proud to tell people about his longevity of more than 40 years and accomplishments as an employee at Frisco Railroad which later transitioned to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He also served 4 years in the healthcare industry as a valued employee for the Veteran Administration Medical Center, in Memphis Tennessee.Edgar was our sports expert. He had a passion for all sports, especially football.Sadly, he leaves to cherish his memories and words of wisdom: Wife, Reva Callender-Morris; three children, Izaac Merriweather, Jr. (Bethelhem), Deddrick Morris (Tamisha), and Lajuana Morris -Fleming (Curtis); brother, Roy E. Morris, and many other family members to include Aunt Zula Wortham, Uncle Timothy Sellers, and his grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister in laws, brother in laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind many loving friends. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Serenity Funeral Home, with a repast following at Serenity Place, 1648 Sycamore View Road and an inurnment on November 6, 2019 at Serenity Columbarium - Rotunda, 1622 Sycamore View Road.
