Melvin Gene Craig, age 72, passed April 22, 2024.

Melvin was born to late James Albert Craig Sr. and the late Euline Allen Craig on December 31, 1951.

Melvin graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. During this time, he was a fine artist hobby was drawing, he was a cabinet maker. He was also a fan of Michael Jackson. He also worked at USPS in Chicago, IL.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, James Albert Craig and Euline Allen- Craig.

He leaves 2 brothers James Albert Craig Jr. (Rose), Willie Lee Craig (Linda) 3 sisters Mary Louise Kelly Who helped take care of him, Patricia Ann Craig, and Janice Marie Craig- Field (Eugene) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

From the brothers and sisters: to my brother I little that day, God was going to call your name. In life I loved you dearly; in death I do the same it broke my heart to lose you, for part of me went with you. The day God called you home you left me peacefully memories. Your love is still my guide. And although I cannot see you; you are always at my side. Our family chain again is broken, and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
