     WILLIE JAMES WASHINGTON, SR, 55, of Memphis, husband of Sabrina Washington, retired correctional officer for Shelby County Corrections, alumnus of Booker T. Washington High School died on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Methodist North Hospital. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 22, from 3-5 p.m. at Harrison’s Funeral Home Chapel, 2647 Carnes Ave. He will lie in state Monday, July 23, from 10-11:55 a.m. at Jordan River Church Ministries, 616 Scott St., where he attended, with funeral ceremony at 12 Noon. Pastor Gerald Jordan will be officiating. Intermentto follow in Memorial Park South Woods, 5485 Hacks Cross Rd. His memory will be cherished by his three sons, Willie James Washington, Jr. of Nashville, TN and Georgio DeMarcus Washington andBrandon LaDarius Washington, both of Memphis, TN; his two stepdaughters, Shannel Annette Whitmill of Dallas, TX and Jasmine Charisse Whitmill of Memphis; four sisters, Susie (Tyrone) Robinson, Merry Anderson, Diane (Clarence) Benson and Barbara (James) Grant, all of Memphis; two grandchildren, Myyarie D. Washington and Travon D. Washington, both of Nashville, TN; and a host of other relatives and friends.
