I went to Georgia Tech after high school, studying Computer Science. I was there in Atlanta for a year and half, but returned to Memphis due to some health issues. I studied Music Business for a year at Visible School out in Lakeland before going to UofM to try and finish my CS degree. That only lasted a couple of semesters, then I quit school and worked in IT at the university for a year.
I eventually got a job offer from USC, so I moved out to Los Angeles at the beginning of 2006. I also moved out to be closer to my now wife, Elisabeth, who I met while attending Georgia Tech through the band Skillet (originally from Memphis).
Then in 2008 we had our big life changes. Elisabeth had just graduated from SDSU with a degree in Business Management; then in a period of a couple of months we got married, I took a new job, and we moved to San Francisco, CA.
After a year, the company I was working for went under and everybody was laid off. I started doing consulting, re-joining some of the projects I worked on while at USC. Having had enough of downtown San Francisco, we moved up to Portland where we had quite a few friends, a good church home, and some much needed fresh air.
