Marvin had been living in Cottage Grove when he died on August 14, 2005. At the time of his death, his friends remembered him as someone who enjoyed bowling at Drkula's, playing pull tabs and doing some camping at Knife Lake with his family and friends.
He left behind his wife Deb and five children (Derek Johnson, Larry McAdoo, Keri Fee, Patrick McAdoo, and Corey Johnson) as well as seven grandchildren (Tyler, Jordan, Sierra, Bryce, Gavin, Mikayla, and Chantelle).
As an adult, Marvin McAdoo Jr. was best known to his friends and family as Mac.
