"Pat the Barber"

Age 70

Pat lived, loved, and laughed alongside her beloved husband, John, for  45 years. As Pat would say, "Who loves ya, Baby?"

She was the proud mother of three accomplished daughters: twins Michele (Justin) Valenstein and Melanie (Marshall) Horner, and Mallory (Jacob) Nieft.

Nothing brought Pat greater joy than being Gramma to Piper, Penelope, Davis, Garrett, Harrison, and Evelyn. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment with them.

Pat was blessed with a career she truly loved. For more than 44 years, she worked as a barber, including 42 years serving her hometown of West St. Paul. To Pat, customers quickly became friends, and friends became family. In 2018, she had the honor—and a whole lot of fun—serving as Grand Marshal of the West St. Paul Parade.

Known to many as "Polka Dot Patsy," Pat discovered the art of clowning later in life, and it brought endless joy to both her and those around her. Her only regret was not starting sooner. She cherished her friends in Clowns Across the River and the countless smiles they shared.

Pat faced cancer with remarkable courage. Diagnosed with her first of three battles at age 39, while her daughters were still young, she considered it one of life's greatest blessings that she was able to watch her girls grow into adulthood and experience the joy of becoming a grandmother.

Pat was the one-of-a-kind sister of Janice, Becky, Steve, Mark, and Diane, and proudly referred to herself as the wittiest and favorite child (her words!) of John and Ruthe Perron.

She was surrounded throughout her life by treasured relatives and lifelong friends who meant the world to her. Wherever Pat went, laughter was never far behind. She considered herself incredibly fortunate to have been blessed with so many wonderful friendships. She loved a good prank and all of her “partners in crime”.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, August 6, at Klecatsky & Sons Funeral Homes in Eagan to celebrate her remarkable life. Wine and cheese will be served from 4:00–6:00 p.m., followed by a time of sharing at 6:00 p.m. Please wear your most colorful outfit and come prepared to raise a glass, share a favorite story or memory, and help us honor Pat at her "last call."

In keeping with Pat's wishes, please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Pat’s memory to Our Lady of Peace Hospice & Home Health Care or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
