Doug was a really funny guy.
We had Zoe Enyedy for chemistry and she was out for some sort of operation so we had a sub for a couple of weeks.
If anybody had Zoe they knew of the worlth largesth periodic table of the elemenths as it was introduced to us on our first day of class.
Well she was gone and in one of the blanks Doug wrote Zoe-Zodium. She looked like she wanted to cry when she returned.
I'm sure there are many more stories about Johnny Rotten.
Come on now?

Doug and I were not close friends in school - in fact, I don't remember really having contact with him past elementary school. I do remember him, though, because I always seemed to be the one picked to go out into the hall and give him his makeup spelling tests! He was one of those people who was obnoxious in kind of an endearing way (if that makes any sense...). Even though we were not really friends, I thought of Doug often through our school years. I remember hearing of some trouble he had gotten into during our high school or college years, and I always hoped he would be able to move his life in a more positive direction. I am sad to hear that he has passed away.

Yes,
Doug was a person involved in many different "things" throughout his life. He was a terrific athlete, had a great sense of humor, would take a bullet for you, had an invincible mindset and just loved to be the person he was, whether it be right or wrong.
In high school, I was driving down Mentor Ave by the old K-mart and out of the woods popped Doug. He appeared to be running from something so I pulled over and told him to get in. No questions asked, I picked him up and took him to where he was going. I knew he would have done the same for me.
He did tell me that he just ganked some merchandise from K-mart as he got out of my car. I smiled and laughed and told him "anytime", I'm sure I'll see you again.....

As Dennis said. My street was the gateway to ganking K-mart. Brandywine.
I'd seen Doug walk by with BB guns, a Comodore 64, and in the latter years a bunch of Miracle grow and bags of soil. I was like what's that for? "It's good for growing things" He said to me as he wandered up the street.

I believe Doug was in an accident (on a motorcycle) and it wasn't very pretty. Does anyone else have info?

Doug had by far the most potential (wasted) of anyone I have ever met. I was absolutely blown away when I started hanging out with him and got past the "bad-boy" exterior he chose to show.

Given focus and drive he really could have accomplished anything.
