Batiste (Tiste) Carabetta

Batiste J. (Tiste) Carabetta, 67, husband of Karen (Plunske) Carabetta, died on Wednesday, Aug 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous 16 year battle with cancer.

After many years of working in his family's construction business, Tiste pursued his love of the trade and started his own business, Carabetta's Grader Service, which he ran still to this day. He was a parishioner of St. Bridget of Kildare. Tiste was an avid gardener and enjoyed relaxing in his Adirondack chair amongst his flower gardens with a glass of wine from his many wine tasting adventures.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughers, Shannon Carabetta and her husband, Nathan, Meagan Carabetta and her husband, Zach and Alysha Carabetta, all from California, Stephanie Carabetta of Wallingford and Kelly Johnson and her husband, Edward of Higganum; two sons, Craig Hunter and his wife, Michaelyn and Lee Hunter and his wife, Jennifer, all of Higganum; nine grandchildren, one sister, Sharon Smith; two brothers, Leo Carabetta and his wife Gail and Dennis Carabetta and his wife Margaret; and many loving nieces and nephews.
