Gary George Somerset, 74, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023. Gary was born on September 24, 1949 to George and Elizabeth Somerset in Meriden, CT. Gary was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his cherished spouse of 52 years, Linda Somerset.

Mr. Somerset is a 1967 graduate of Platt High School. After attending business school and working in accounting, he and Linda entered the Dairy Queen business in 1975 after purchasing the franchise on West Main Street in Meriden. They also purchased the Dairy Queen in Kensington in 1980. After 44 years in business, they retired to Florida.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Gary George Somerset Jr. and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Somerset of Maryland, his daugher Amanda Somerset of Berlin. Three grandchildren, Ciara Colon, Glaudia Somerset and Jack Somerset. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gail Somerset.

A celebration of life was held for family and friends in Connecticut on October 7, 2023.
