Gail Lorraine Catania, 71, of Meriden, loving wife of 52 years to William Catania, passed away on March 9, 2021 at MidState Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on May 1, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Dominic Guiel and Ermina Marcellino Guiel.

Gail was a graduate of Platt High School and worked at MidState Medical Center until her retirement in 2011. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Gail enjoyed gardening, working on her puzzles and going on road trips to Maine, Vermont, and the Carolinas. Gail also loved going to the casino and she was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband William, Gail is survived by her daughter, Carie Thompson (Michael Harvin) and son, Michael Catania; her four grandchildren, Justin, Carissa, and Shaun Thompson, and Joseph Miller; two great-grand dogs, Spade and Harley, and her sister MayAnn Mettica. She is also survived by 11 nieces and 7 nephews and her lifelong friend Doris Bateman. Gail was predeceased by her brother Allen Guiel.
